Canada 50.

Now that things are settling down after the big Canada 150 celebrations and remembering the 100^th

anniversary in 1967 as a young person, I began to wonder about the 50^th jubilee. It was 1917 and the first world war had not yet ended. I only found one reference in the Cupar Herald dated June 28, 1917.

It appears to have been a much more somber occasion compared to other “Dominion Days “ celebrations through the early years.
